Well, today’s the day! It’s been such a busy day of sitting around. Unfortunately we are not flying directly to Dublin from DFW, so I am currently sitting in the Boston airport waiting for our Aer Lingus flight to Dublin. But this six hour layover will pass by quickly…. I’m sure. However, the very happy, enthusiastic Dunkin’ Donuts guy gave us free, extra doughnuts, so we’ve got enough to keep us full and entertained for a while. 🙂 Who knew the Boston airport could be so cold, though? It’s only 21°C (69°F) but my mom and I are about to freeze into people-sicles. (Typical me, talking about the weather.) Going to miss the Texas sun!
We don’t have much planned for once we arrive in Dublin early Saturday morning. I will get to see my room at Trinity Hall, but other than that I have a bunch of boring chore-like stuff to do, such as register at the post office (takes place of needing a visa), open a bank account, get a sim card for my phone, and other random errands. Hopefully we’ll have some time to check out the stores as well and try to figure out the Irish equivalent of the main brand stores in America. I know if I stay on the bus that takes me to school I will end up at IKEA, which is probably going to be the answer for all my kitchen and dorm room needs. Can’t wait to meet my roommates and see my new home for the next few years!
That’s about all I got for now; just have to figure out how to kill a few more hours until our next flight. Good-bye, Texas, I’ll miss you, but I’ll see you in a few short months. Bon voyage!
